The Metamorphosis is a work inspired by the homonymous Kafka’s story. My intention was to better understand what was behind the story by analysing the author's life and trying to give an explanation to this transformation, that is nothing but a metaphor of the everyday life.
A man, deprived of his rights and obliged to do things uncomfortable to him, loses its "dignity" feeling so small, insignificant, almost like an insect. Thus, finding himself trapped in a body or in a life that doesn’t belong to him, not desired. This body is represented by a cockroach, something repugnant, as strong as the repudiation that has for himself and for his own body, an insect that represents the state of mind of a person and the consequent alienation and impediment to conduct a normal everyday life.

With my work I have tried to represent these feelings of a nightmare coming alive, through my photographs and a costume that I have realised.
